State Sen. Katie Wallace and Longmont Mayor Susie Hidalgo-Fahring, both public supporters of ranked-choice voting, will lead the event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon at Bricks on Main, 471 Main St.
Rank candidates in order of preference
The presentation will focus on ballot measures 3C and 3D, which ask voters whether Longmont should use ranked-choice voting in future municipal elections. Under the system, voters rank candidates in order of preference rather than selecting only one. If approved, ranked-choice voting would begin with the city’s 2029 elections.
The Longmont City Council voted 6-1 in August to place the proposed changes before voters.
